2015 Tie Rods?

$

I would like to replace my tie rods, I'm not sure getting super strong tie rods is the best idea, something else might break instead? However maybe something a little stronger would be nice.

After many dune trips I have seen these get bent many times on all sorts of UTVs which can not only ruin your day but your entire trip. Driving on 3 wheels never seems to work to well out in the dunes.
So my idea is that I would like to replace them with something such that I can keep my stock tie rods and ball joints as spares.

Anyone tried these SDI ones? They look like they replace the Ball joints with a heim (not my favorite for sand purposed but acceptable). This would allow me to both have stock rods and ball joints though?

Another option I was looking at are the Zbros tie rods which I think provide me with the same options.

Also these looks like they come with heims?

2017 RZR XP 1000 - Clutch Question - dropping tire size for Racing

$

Hi All,

New here, but joined a while ago. With other household activities, havent really been to active.
However, I was hoping you all, the pros, could help me out.

There are a ton of posts about the needs for clutching when going UP in tire size, however, for racing, I'm looking to drop in tire size. I'm currently on the stock wheel/tire setup (29x9x14 and 29x11x14). I found a great deal and picked up some Rocks and Trails edition beadlocks (I wanted to keep a narrow width, as I race in the woods, and some series rules have a max width of 65"-ish)
Im looking to drop to either a 28" tall tire, or even a 27" tall tire. I've got friends who have run Arisun Aftershocks with great success. I was also looking at Dirt Commanders, as you can possibly get bonus points for the heartland challenge race, if you run a GBC tire, but as I dont have the budget for Tire Spines, at the moment, I am leaning towards the Arisuns as they seem to get less flats.

Enough background... here is the question:
Will i have any issues with dropping tire size, and keeping the stock clutch for a season? With a smaller size, i imagine I will end up with a smaller tire weight, and the weight will be on a shorter radius from the rotational center of the wheel, thus having less drag effect when taking off. Im hoping the beadlock wheels will add neglible extra weight, as the goal of going down in tire size is to reduce weight and make acceleration greater.

Will i spin too high of RPMs? Will i have any other issue?
Can anyone help me with tips, info, tricks, etc?

Thank you all!

'16 XP 1000 o2 Sensor, replace or delete along with cat?

My used 2016 xp1000 w/ride command has an o2 code (P0030 / 520209) when I bought it but didn't have a clue until after I got her home. It doesn't seem to be in any "limp mode" that others mention so I haven't addressed the issue yet. My research shows here that most just replace the $120 oxygen sensor and move on. But I'm wondering what kills them at such a tender age?

Is it possible that the catalytic converter retains too much heat, thus causing premature wear on the sensor? I've read also that the sensor's connection may be bad but I've checked that and it seems fine. Anyway, I was debating pending further research whether or not to hollow out my cat and while I was at it I had considered getting that Bikeman's Performance 02 delete meant for aftermarket exhaust. I'll be keeping the stock exhaust, and especially keeping the spark arrestor.

I wanted to get some of everyone's thoughts who may have experience with this because after reading multiple threads on the subjects I can't seem to make up my mind which road to travel. Thanks in advance, guys and gals.

I did some searching but didn’t find an answer, does anyone make an aftermarket cage that accepts a stock windshield? Rear window? Appreciate your help.

Hi all!! Great forum and happy to be here!!

I have searched all over this forum and can’t find someone with my set up. I’m looking to mount a motorcycle plate (with light) on the back of my car which has a Pro Armor roll cage.

Here’s a pic of the cage. Same exact cage, but different color. Mine is at the shop. As you can see, I don’t have the space as some do on the plastic exhaust cover.

Any ideas?? Thanks.

2019 XP1K Ride Command - Tranny Noise at 40Miles

$

Greetings All,
Thought I would ask a question too see what you folks have to say.
Just picked up my new 2019 RZR XP1000 Ride Command on Jan 10.
I have about 40 miles on it from riding in the yard and the neighborhood.

Love the machine, initially seemed fine, but at about 25 miles started noticing a noise at about 30MPH

Slightly grinding/whining noise that pulsates about every 3 seconds gets louder and softer, letting off the gas to about 15mph sound goes down about 50% but still noticeable. Putting it in 4x4 it goes down slightly but still happens.

In Neutral.
I jacked up the front of the machine and spun both front wheels by hand, no noticeable play or noise front seemed fine.
Jacked up the back off the ground, spun the wheels and it appears tranny makes a clunking/clacking noise every couple of tire rotations.
Should the back wheels off the ground spinning in Neutral make any noise?
It was about 30 degrees here so I dont think it overheated any.

Any ideas planning to contact my dealer on Monday.

Not happy with a 4 day old machine $20k spent and only 40 miles.

I got my new xp1000 in early November and just got back from Windrock a week ago. What a blast. Love that place. Did 50 miles on the first full day and 68 miles the second day. Love this machine and the ability to adjust suspension on the fly. I have a few questions though. I am looking at the Polaris Kick out sliders and Desert bumper. I like the new running lights on the grill and don't want to loose that look. Anyone on here have an opinion or pics of theirs with the bumper on it? Also, what are some pros and cons of the rock sliders? Any help or info is appreciated!

I’m wondering what coating or lack thereof Polaris is using on all its flange bolts. It’s the greenish gray that is confusing to me. Anyone know what it is?

Thx!

I currently don't need anything but this credit expires soon.

I recently replaced my primary clutch.

Still have stock axles, but if I break one better to get aftermarket?

I have a couple spare belts but I could buy another one at MSRP. (much cheaper from RMATV).

I'm thinking about ordering another primary? Or maybe a secondary? Then spend the remaining amount on belts?

I have extra oil and filters already too.

Need suggestions!
Thanks,

Trailer help? Remove cage?

$

With an battery impact it probably would be simply enough to remove and install cage top(other than messing with mirrors).
Thought about strapping down rear suspension and possibly lower tire pressure to fit in my hybrid enclosed snowmobile trailer.
Need to do this once ,maybe twice this winter(NE Wisconsin) depending on road conditions.(not use my open trailer if roads are wet or sloppy salty)

Wondering how much I can gain by compressing (strap down) rear and lowering tire pressure? Is 10" out of the question?
Thanks for opinions in advance, but not in my budget to buy a bigger/taller trailer this year.
