Front Diff noise but looks good

Replaced my diff and the crazy loud grinding went away. But, I opened the "broken" diff and I can't find anything glaringly wrong. A little discoloration and wear on the inside of the ring gear. But when it went, it went right away like something broke. Anything I should look for special????

15 xp1000 check engine no start

Hello,

I was up at the dunes this weekend. Rode no problem the day before. Next day I go to the dunes I start up IDLE to warm it up and runs just fine. I am about a half tank right now. My brother filled my tank up with a gas can he brought.

I drove about 15 mins up the dunes very slow riding and check engine popped on with codes 65590 65591. These are misfire codes I found out. Checked the plugs, looked good spark. Changed Coil wires and coil pack from my brothers RZR and same issue.

What else could it be?
Also the Coil pack was very very loose and I think the ground was giving problems as well. Tightened that up
We did not change the plugs, but my theory is something was in the hose of the gas can he filled me up with. It was a rubber hose and we siphoned from one of those portable race cans since the pump was froze. I only say this is because we sprayed starting fluid in the intake and it started right up. We sat there for another 20 mins let the starting fluid evaporate. It started normal, but RPMS dropped to about 1000 and as soon as I touched the gas it died. Check engine light still on at this point with same codes.
It feels like I am not getting gas almost like fuel pump isn't working. Checked relay, clicks and also hear fuel pump prime just fine.

Could it actually be trash from that hose stuck in my filter?
Just need some guidance as I want to check it out before I call my dealer to fix it( Thank god for the extended warranty).

Hey everyone I have 2016 rzr 1000 4 seater I recently got in an accident on rolled over twice, my rzr is totaled and suddenly the seats came off. My buddy and I are ok but I was wonder if those seats weren't suppose to ejected out?

Head light problem

My headlights stopped working, the switch is still getting power and the fuse is good. However the headlamps themselves aren't coming on, When I test the plug-in at the headlamps with a multimeter, I'm not showing any positive power. However, when I have the red prong of the multimeter on the positive of the battery and using the black prong at the harness, I'll show voltage at each of the 3 wires.
Any ideas why all 3 wires would be grounding? Besides the fuse in the panel is there another fuse or relay of some kind?

Ok, this is my first time changing belt on this bike. It's a 2017 Rzr 1000 HL edition. On my 800 all I did was roll the belt onto the secondary and was good to go. There is no rolling the belt on these, at least not that I have found. The spanner/clutch tool didn't come with the Rzr from the dealership, I called them and they said that there isn't one that you have to remove the primary every time you change the belt.

Is this true? Do we have to remove the primary? Any other way to get it on? I now have my belt off and can't get the dang thing back on, any help would be greatly appreciated guys!

I don't really see a "racing forum"... which is kinda weird to me since almost every series out there is dominated by Polaris entries.

Anyhoo... it looks like we finally found and repaired our clutch properly after the Florida round of the Gncc. It turned out to be a Cracked spider nut. I can't believe we didn't check that two races ago. lol

Well, he said he didn't feel like he was driving any harder, but is car was just pulling so well now he could make passes when needed too.

He came around lap one in 6th over all... right Behind Yamaha contracted driver Cody Miller and right in front of CanAm's contracted driver Tim Farr.

Lap two he dropped to 8th, and then down to 10th over all on Lap 3. By this time he had a good lead in the XC3 class, so I was giving him the "slow down" on the pit board. He slowed a little to hold onto his class win and still netted a 15th over all. The over all finish isn't that impressive... but 3 laps in the top 10 was!

XP 1000 Sway Bar and Spring Sag

On my 2010 800 S, I tried removing the sway bar, and it had way too much body roll. Made me super uncomfortable. Also my springs sagged out in a year or so.

I finally put out the cash for a set of dual rate springs from RacerTech, and it was a gigantic improvement, and I was also able to remove the sway bar and it felt great.

So now I have an XP 1000. I bought it used and it has 777 miles on it. But the suspension is a world of difference with the XP 1000. The springs are much larger, the shocks are much larger, and of course it has trailing arms instead of A-arms in rear.

Does the same situation apply though? When do the XP 1000 stock springs sag out? Will it be a freaky amount of body roll if I take off the sway bar without putting in dual rate springs from RacerTech?

4WD fuse blowing, help before sending to dealer plz!

2014 XP 1000
So the engine light is on....reading code 520207-4 (All Wheel Drive Control Circuit - Driver Circuit Grounded)

I have tried these things to pinpoint problem.
*Unplugged front diff under hood
*Disconnected 4WD switch
*Disconnected 12V dash power port
*Swapped relays around in fuse box

It still blows fuse every time as soon as I turn the key on. How is that when everything is disconnected. The best idea I have is the short is somewhere between the fuse box and the switch. Somewhere in that wire? Any suggestions or better ideas? I don't know how to ohm test or all that electrical meter reading sh*t but I can find a buddy I'm sure. Thanks for reading and possibly helping

If I have to pull this stupid thing apart I mine as well rebuild it...

I don't want to change the gearing, but I'd like to make any upgrades possible. Including the reverse chain and any snorkel gear output shaft upgrades possible.

Changing wheel bearings help

I have a 2015 xp 1000 and i am in the middle of changing the front wheel bearings, every video i watched they show the bearing comes out the outer side and pressed back in the outer side and thats what polaris parts exploded view shows but from what i can tell mine have to come out and in through the inner side,i ran the numbers on the spindles and they match oem, can anyone shed some light on this for me, i am the 2nd owner and it does have super atv A arms, thanks for any info.

Our RZR has been a great machine, no problems at all with the exception of the crappy 2016 clutch. Purchased it in January last year and by June I was researching clutches. Went to Moab July 4th for a week of fun. Had to be winched up Escalator because of clutch/belt issues wouldn't let me climb the second ledge. Talked to a guy at the Golden Spike with a XP4/900 and Duraclutch. He talked highly of it when doing slower technical riding so I researched it hard when I got back home. Decided that would be my best bet so when it became available I sent off more money than I wanted to so I could have what I thought was the best clutch for me. I was not disappointed. This setup is fully engaged at a lower rpm than stock,:grin, and then stays in the starting gear till about 3200 rpm in low range so much easier to crawl around on the trails and obstacles. And OMG, the engine braking is incredible! All the way down to idle, at Arbuckle OK couple Saturdays ago,(on granite), engine braking only on down slope that were so steep I could hear the tires starting to slip. Very happy camper here.

Sorry for being long winded but I do love this clutch.

Hi all, I have a slow weep from the passengers side where the axle goes into the rear diff XP 1000, is this seal hard to replace, any special tools needed, do I need to get anything else with the new seal, and has anyone got a part number?

Shock Therapy level 4 spring kit instalation

I received my Shock Therapy level 4 spring kit for my 2016 RZR XP 1000 yesterday!!! :grin

I'm very much looking forward to the installation this weekend. Do you guys have any good tips for this process? Is there anything I need to look out for? Is it possible to do the installation without fully removing the shocks?

As always, any input is greatly appreciated.

Just pulled the trigger on trading my 2013 900XP in for a 17 Gold LE XP1K.
Ordered a few of the essentials for it so far (roof, lower doors, light bars, and adding stock width fender flares) that I need to get put on before we head to MOAB the end of this month.

I am really not thrilled about the color but the lower low gear and gear drive reverse were what sold me on the machine. Both things I wish I had in my old 900.

Has Polaris made any updates to the 17's as far as carrier bearings so its more robust or the same under engineered design?
What other bullet proofing should I think about doing to prevent additional failures?

I just purchased a new 2017 Rzr 1000xp from a dealer.

It came with 2 miles on it for some reason. Does that seem right? This is the least of my issues.

My main problem is I tried to give this thing full throttle down my street 3 times and it basically fell on its face with no power. It starts to go and then power loss, and its loss for multiple seconds. I initially thought I was out of gas cause it was only 1 bar on the fuel indicator.

Now I live in a subdivision and I can't test this thing or really drive it beyond what I already have.

Is there any reason this would be doing this? I had it in high gear, 2 wheel drive (I think) and I was on cement.

What ya think?

Fuel gauge never stays on full?

I wanted to run this by the forum. I have my rzr at a dealer for the fuel gauge not staying on full. It keeps blinking down one bar when the tank is totally full. It will stay on full for 20 seconds then one bar will go away for 30-40 seconds then back on full.(sitting still). Then it will stay for 10 seconds then down 20 seconds. Its not the same each time it does it. The dealer said they took the fuel pump out and the sender would show full all the way up but all the way down would not show empty??? humm

So polaris told them to reflash the ecm and they called me and told me it was fixed. I went to pick it up and it was doing the same thing it was when I dropped it off. So I left it.

I called back a few days later and they said then had a fuel pump coming for it. So they called yesterday and said they put the fuel pump in and its doing the same and that polaris said they couldnt do anymore diag untill the rzr was put back to stock.... ( lights stereo horn rock lights and so on) I said so it sounds like yall dont know what to do and you just want me to go away. He said no its polaris call not ours. So I said well its funny cause it was doing it the day I picked the machine up and went home to make sure it was full and forced another half gallon in. So I told him if it needs to be stock then unhook the positive and negative on the fuse block under the hood and anything I added will be disabled. He said he would tell the tech and get back to me.

My question is has anyone experienced this and found a fix for it? It only worries me not trusting what the fuel gauge is saying when we are 40 miles back in the mountains. My fat arse dont want to be walking back. Please let me know if anyone has any info on this problem...

Help troubleshooting 4 wheel drive

So on our last ride, I noticed that my 4 wheel drive was disengaging occasionally.

No dash lights or weird noises. Nothing noticeable. We would just be driving along and notice that we were in 2 wheel drive. Flipped the switch to 2wd then back to 4wd and it would re-engage. We had to do this a couple of times.

Has anyone else had this happen? Figured I'de ask to see if it was a common issue or not. We just moved back to Alaska and this is the first time we've really had to use 4wd.

Clutch alignment 2016 XP

After going thru two belts on my 2016 in less than 700 miles I've decided that , that just isn't going to cut it. I did a bunch of research over the winter and have come up with this plan. First off, align the clutches using the SDI clutch alignment tool. Then add, a slide guide to the inside of the cover, the SDI motor plate, and lastly a clutch kit.

Started on the project yesterday. And as you can see in the picture , the alignment is off right from the start. Now it doesn't seem that bad, but I'm no expert though. The alignment bar will not go on. Also , while removing the inner CVT cover ( 7 10mm bolts) a washer fell out from one of the 3 bolts around the primary shaft, it looks like it was being used as a spacer. Is this common ? Seems odd to only have one.
